What Kind of Writers Am I Best Suited to Help?
As a writing coach, one of the biggest things I’ve learned is this: I can't help every writer in the world—but I can deeply help the right ones. That’s why I often ask myself this question: What kind of writers am I best suited to help?
Knowing the answer helps me focus. It helps me serve better. And if you’re a writing coach too—or looking for one—this post will help you think clearly about who you can serve, or who should work with you.If this article helps you in any way, please support my work by clicking this link: Support this mission here. So, What Kind of Writers Am I Best Suited to Help?
Let’s keep this simple. I work best with everyday writers who want to share their voice but feel stuck. These writers aren’t looking to win a Nobel Prize. They’re not trying to impress the world. They just want to express something real—something personal, helpful, or inspiring.
Most of the writers I serve fall into one or more of these categories:
- Beginner writers who don’t know where to start.
- Busy adults who want to write but never find the time.
- Creative people who have ideas but can’t organize them.
- Personal growth writers who want to turn their life story into a book.
- Bloggers or ebook writers who need help finishing and polishing their work.
These are my people. These are the writers I truly understand.
Why Do I Work Best With These Writers?
Because I’ve been where they are. I know what it feels like to have something important to say but not know how to say it. I know how hard it is to start writing when doubt is louder than your dreams.
That’s why I bring more than skills to the table—I bring empathy, encouragement, and simple steps.
My coaching isn’t about big, scary lessons. It’s about:
- Breaking writing down into small tasks
- Helping you gain confidence
- Staying consistent without burning out
- Finishing what you start
- Believing in your voice again
What Do These Writers Need?
If you’re wondering whether you're the kind of writer I can help, here’s what I’ve noticed these writers often say:
- “I want to write a book, but I don’t know how to begin.”
- “I write sometimes, but I always stop halfway.”
- “I have so many ideas, but I can’t organize them.”
- “I’m scared my writing isn’t good enough.”
- “I just want someone to guide me through the process.”
These writers don’t need fancy theories. They need support. They need a roadmap. They need someone to say, “You can do this. Let’s take it one step at a time.”
What Kind of Writers Am I Not Best Suited to Help?
This is also important to say. I might not be the best coach for:
- Advanced writers looking for deep technical editing
- Academic writers focused on research-heavy papers
- Writers who want quick-fix solutions without doing the work
That’s okay. Every coach has a lane. I stay in mine—and that’s helping writers who are ready to grow with patience and support.
How Do I Help the Writers I’m Best Suited For?
Here’s what my coaching usually includes:
- A clear writing plan
- Gentle accountability
- Encouraging but honest feedback
- Tools for organizing ideas
- Support for finishing books, blogs, or ebooks
- Motivation when doubt creeps in
I believe every writer has a message worth sharing. I help you unlock that message and shape it into something clear, powerful, and real.
In Conclusion: What Kind of Writers Am I Best Suited to Help?
To wrap it up, the kind of writers I’m best suited to help are those who are ready to write but don’t know how to move forward. You might be scared. You might be stuck. But you still want to write—and that’s enough.
